THE OSIRIS CLUB RELEASES "THE WINE-DARK SEA" TODAY
London's The Osiris Club are finally out with their sophomore album titled 'The Wine-Dark Sea' today! With 'The Wine-Dark Sea', the band follows on from their 2014 debut ‘The Blazing World’, by encompassing the worlds of progressive rock, metal and post-punk. Inspired equally by comic books and horror fiction, the nine tracks that comprise the album are a darkly psychedelic journey into sound. Lyrically, some of the songs on the album were shaped by the strange horror stories of Robert Aickman and H.P. Lovecraft. Singer/bassist Sean Cooper comments: "We attempted to summon a musical counterpart to the hellish, apocalyptic themes of our favourite fictional worlds. At the same time we kept a strong melodic core to the arrangements, as we feel that even the deepest darkness always needs to be balanced out by some element of light." . The band excitedly continues: "The Osiris Club proudly presents ‘The Wine Dark Sea’, a dark journey through the mind and madness of the horror and gothic visionaries; Robert Aickman & Mike Mignola."
